In the last years of the 20th century, thousands of men and women set out to conquer space, fleeing the now unhealthy megalopolises. On the colonies, a new race of slaves is born: the replicants, androids that cannot be distinguished from humans. But following a rebellion, they are gradually retired.

However, four of them manage to escape and infiltrate Los Angeles. A special agent, a blade-runner, is tasked with exterminating them.
