What is the TV anime Eternal Yuugure?
The story is set in a futuristic world where AI technology has advanced. It begins when the protagonist, Akira Himegami, who once pledged his love to his beloved Towasa Ouma, wakes up from a long cryogenic sleep.

What Akira sees when he awakens is a city devastated by war. The country is in ruins, and people are governed by a unified organization called OWEL.

There is also a new system called Elsie, which is different from marriage...

Akira is stunned to find himself left behind in a future that has changed so drastically from the world he once knew. To make matters even more confusing, an android named Yuugure, who looks exactly like Towasa, appears before him and asks him to marry her.

Akira is bewildered by the android’s sudden marriage proposal, but believing that Towasa is surely alive somewhere in the world, he sets out on a journey with Yuugure. Along the way, the two encounter new forms of love in this new era and begin to reconsider the nature of their own love...
