Blu-Ray: Home Alone 2: Lost in New York! features the young Kevin McCallister (8 years old) who finds himself home alone when his entire family accidentally leaves him behind while going on vacation to Paris, and burglars attempt to rob the house. Home Alone: The Holiday Heist! Released on November 12, 2021 worldwide, the film is considered one of the most beloved holiday films of all time.

Kevin McCallister, 8 years old, is the black sheep of the family: his older brothers and sisters, including his cousins, are very mean to him, especially his Uncle Frank who hates him daily, and even his parents reject him. During a family dinner, an altercation between Kevin and Buzz, his older brother, causes a deep discomfort and results in damage.

Kevin is punished for sparking the incident. The house used in the film is located in a village close to Chicago in the state of Illinois. The McCallister family boards a plane to Paris to spend the holiday season.

Onboard, Kate McCallister panics when she realizes that she and the whole family have left their youngest, 8-year-old Kevin, at home. Bullied by his siblings, he is small, carefree, and scared (particularly of his mysterious neighbor, Old Man Marley, and the creepy furnace in the basement that growls and opens and closes on its own), but also intelligent and resourceful.

While his family tries to help him from afar and his mother attempts to return to him, Kevin is quite happy to have gotten rid of his family, whom he struggles to tolerate and who sometimes exclude him because of his position as the youngest.

He enjoys a quiet life, doing his own shopping and believing he is truly alone; but he does not realize that two burglars plan to rob the house that night. He eventually becomes aware of the burglary and works to thwart the plans of the two shady individuals, all the while realizing, as hours and days pass, that he misses his family, to the point that he begins to pray for their return. While waiting for his family's return, Kevin sets up a series of traps against the two burglars who are coming to empty the house during the night. They are in for a very rough evening and are not done with their surprises yet. Meanwhile, Kevin's mother is helped by a band of musicians from France.

Home Alone 2: Lost in New York is the sequel to the film by the same director, released two years earlier. One of the iconic images from the film involves the former President of the United States facing off against Kevin McCallister in the Plaza, a very famous hotel in New York City, where Chris Columbus reportedly begged the former president to appear in this scene of the film. The McCallister family is preparing to spend their holiday season in New York. Kate and Peter McCallister are careful not to forget their son Kevin, as they did the previous year.

However, at the airport, Kevin boards the wrong plane and inadvertently embarks on a flight to New York by following another individual wearing the same colors as his father. Nevertheless, thanks to his father's credit card, he visits the city and stays at the luxurious hotel located across from Central Park. But the two burglars captured in the previous episode, Harry and Marv, have escaped from prison and coincidentally run into the young boy a second time. Vengeful, Harry and Marv pursue young Kevin. He then embarks on a solo mission in New York to thwart the burglars' new plan, which is to rob a toy store.
